Hello loves! Hope everyone is having a fabulous day. Last night, I went out with my bestie, Jaclyn for sushi.
First, let me give you some background. I tried sushi for the first time this past summer. I have had it only a handful of times since then. I'm still experimenting and finding what I like since I can sometimes be a very picky eater. Yesterday, I asked all of you if you liked sushi or not and I was surprised to see that an overwhelming amount of you love it and that makes me happy! A few of you commented that you like it but won't eat anything raw. I am totally with you on that! I'm not a fan of anything raw either with the exception of spicy tuna, which I will eat if there are other things I like on the roll. Like I mentioned before, I still consider myself a "rookie" and I'm still testing out what I like... although last night, I was called a pro because I ate quite a variety and enjoyed it all! I'll let all you sushi lovers out there be the judge of that after you see what I had ;)

We ordered 4 rolls and shared them. THEY WERE ALL AMAZING! SO GOOD!
-- LONG ISLAND ROLL: Sweet potato tempura and lobster salad with chef's special sauce.
-- VOLCANO ROLL: Shrimp tempura and cucumber topped with spicy tuna.
-- MICHELLE SPECIAL ROLL: Crab meat, avocado, and cucumber topped with spicy tuna.
{It was named after me ;)}
-- MANGO LOVERS ROLL: Spicy shrimp and crab crunch topped with lobster salad and fresh mango with chef's special sauce.
{All wrapped in soy paper.}
What do you think? Doesn't it look and sound delicious? Yum ... I want more now!

I'm so glad that you enjoyed it! I used to be scared of sushi until I started trying it and now I'm a big fan! My Bff tricked me one time into eating an eel roll and I thought it was SO good until she told me what it was and I freaked out! Now I'm still 'dealing' with the fact I like eel but I'll still order it and try not to think about the fact it's AN EEL!
Here are my top 4-
- California roll topped w. tuna, salmon, white fish, shrimp & avocado.
- Spicy tuna/spicy salmon/spicy yellowtail/avocado inside, fish roe outside.
- Crab tempura/cucumber inside, broiled eel/avocado outside.
- Tuna/salmon/yellowtail/avocado/cucumber/fish roe wrapped white seaweed.
I've never tried sushi! I'm too chicken.. but everyone always raves about it, maybe I need to suck it up and give it a try!
i love sushi! My favorite is spicy Tempura chicken roll :)
I tried it and i just didn't like it.. but i hate avocados AND seafood of any kind.. so a California roll was NOT the best option for me! I didn't even know they had chicken sushi till i read the comments on here! maybe i'd like that! haha
that looks amazing. i wish i had gone with you! i love sushi...almost too much. my general sushi hub definitely doesnt have avocado salad...i wish they did!
my favorite are usually rolls or hand rolls! i love spicy tuna ...or some of the funky creations that local places will create with rolls. im glad you're enjoying it! its so fun to eat :-)

Mmmm. My favorites are the Hurricane Roll and Baked Lobster.
BLECH! Can't do sushi, but I wish I liked it. THat avocado salad looks AMAZING! I LOVE AVOCADOS!!!
So many of my friends LOVE sushi and go out all the time but I can't choke it down. I tried to like it but it's just not happening for me. Looks like you guys had a great time!
The Long Island and Mango rolls look so good. Thanks for sharing. I may have to step outside the California roll and try something new next time.
The Volcano roll I order is SO different from what you got!

Then topped with a spicy mayo based sauce -- DELICIOUS! I could really go for some sushi now girl!
I LOVE the soy paper -- I can't do the seaweed!
My parents actually introduced my brother and I when we were VERY young and i've loved it ever since. My BF didn't start eating it until we started dating and now he loves it too! It's our favorite date night!
Yum! I eat sushi too but not often..I am trying to get into it more!

That sushi looks absolutely amazing! seriously I wish we hada place that sold massive sushi rolls like that!
I wish I liked sushi. It's so...mushy. Haha.
