ACM Awards Recap!

Hey y'all! Who watched the Academy of Country Music Awards last night? Wasn't it a great show?! I thought Reba and Blake did a great job hosting together.  They were both very funny!

My HIGHLIGHTS from the show...

Blake Shelton sang his new song, "Honey Bee".  LOVE IT!! It is so sweet! What did y'all think? {Check out the lyrics below}

Miranda Lambert took home a handful of awards.  She won Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Video of the Year for "The House That Built Me", and Female Vocalist of the Year.  She's awesome and was deserving of all these honors! Not to mention, she looked stunning in her hot pink dresses and I LOVED HER SHOES!

 

Darius Rucker performed "Music From the Heart" with a group of developmentally disabled children and adults from Vanderbilt Kennedy.  It was such a sweet and emotional performance... a must see if you missed it!

Carrie Underwood performed "Walk This Way" with Aerosmith's Steven Tyler.

AND ... of course, my fave Jason Aldean was there :)  I was rather disappointed he didn't win (he was nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year) but I was happy that he was nominated and in categories with such amazing artists! It is such an honor to even be nominated!  He has had such an amazing year and I know this year will be even better for him!  He sang, "Dirt Road Anthem", which has been one of my favorites since he released his CD in November.  (I even made a video singing/rapping that song -- but forget I said that. HELLO EMBARRASSMENT! HAHA)  What did you think of the rapping in "Dirt Road Anthem"?

Winners of the Night ...

Lady Antebellum won Album of the Year for "Need You Now" and Vocal Group of the Year.

Sugarland took home the award for Duo of the Year.

The Band Perry won Best New Artist and Top New Vocal Group or Duo of the Year.

Eric Church won Top New Solo Vocalist of the Year.

Brad Paisley won Male Vocalist of the Year.
Taylor Swift won Entertainer of the Year.
