Thursday Link-ups~

Hello friends!  It's Thursday and that means it's time to join two of my favorite link up parties!

Photobucket
What songs are on repeat on your iPod this week?
Link up with Belle in the City's We're Just Like You Only Prettier and tell us :)

Empire State of Mind -- Jay-Z ft. Alicia Keys
In honor of my NYC themed guest post at A Suitcase and Stilettos today :)

I Use What I Got -- Jason Aldean

I Ain't Ready to Quit -- Jason Aldean

I don't need to tell y'all why I chose Jason's songs because well, y'all know I'm obsessed.  I listen to him 24/7.  This week, I've had a lot going on and listening to him always puts me in a better mood.  The song, "I Use What I Got" always reminds that no matter what you have to keep pushing for what you want and I needed that reminder this week.  So if you've never heard either one of these songs ... take a listen :)

I'm also joining Jamie at Our Family of Four and Julia at Black Tag Diaries for Thankful Thursday.

I'm thankful for my job and my sweet students!  One of my kids told me this week that he wanted to glue himself to his chair so he'd never have to leave me.  He also told me that he would cry if I'm not his teacher next year.  How cute is that?! My heart just melts when I hear sweet things like that.  My students are extremely important to me!  I'm also very thankful to work with wonderful people and have very supportive parents.  Today was Staff Recognition Day and the parents were so unbelievably kind in throwing the faculty an amazing party!  It was called "Fabulous Fifties Sock Hop".  They had root beer floats, old-fashioned candy, tons of food (including scrumptious desserts!), fun decorations and all of the moms were dressed as pink ladies!  They played 50's music and we had an awesome time!

I'm thankful that my grandma came home from the hospital on Tuesday.  She is still very weak but we are lucky to have a nurse's aide help us to take care of her for the next few weeks.

I'm thankful for my mom.  She is amazing!  She is truly my best friend and my biggest supporter!  She is also my country music buddy! We go to tons of concerts together and have so much fun!

I'm thankful for my sweet dog, Brandi.  She always puts a smile on my face when I walk in the door.

I'm thankful for blogging and all of the amazing people that I have met on this journey.  Y'all make me smile every day with your sweet comments and kind words! Thank you!

Oh, and a few weeks ago, I said I was thankful for soon being able to have SONIC for the fist time {haha}. It's currently being built and will be less than a mile from my house!  I thought I'd include a picture of the progress.

Would y'all mind if I share one thing that I'm not thankful for?  .... Okay, good.  I'm not thankful for the raising gas prices!! I'm sure many of you can agree.  It cost me $55 to fill my car today when I still had a quarter of a tank left! It's crazy!  How are gas prices by you?

What are you thankful for?

Hope everyone is having a great day! xo

Loving your song selections and everything you are thankful for! DISLIKE the gas prices!!! I honestly don't really look at the prices anymore...that is one thing that everyone HAS to have but I do not like having to pay that much!

Yeah, 55$ for a tank of gas sounds about right... unfortunately! Never been to Sonic - then again, we don't have that up here in the Great North! I'll have to try it out next trip south of the border ;)

So how cute and you and your mom!? Yall look so much alike!!!! And I think its adorable she goes to country concerts with you. My mom took me to a concert (my first one to be exact) and it was BARRY MANILOW! I still haven't completely forgiven her.

I'm thankful for having so many people in my life who truly care about me, regardless if they support the decisions I make or not. I am also thankful for an old friend who just came back into my life over the last two days. We had a falling out a few years back- and have patched things up. Its awesome! I'm also thankful for my animals (dog and cat) because no matter how frustrated and annoyed I can get with their antics, they are always forgiving and excited to see me :)

Have a great evening :)

OMG I thought our gas prices were high but those are unbelievable (sp?). So sweet that your student said that and how nice of those parents to throw that party. Teachers need to be recognized so much more and of course paid more. Sonic is the best-I couldn't live without it-can believe you guys don't have one yet!

Get excited about Sonic! When I was in college, my friends and I drove 6 hours to go to the closest one. It was ridiculous but totally worth it!
