Hello loves! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I am sharing two new stories in The Road to Finding Love and Not Another Bad Date series today.
Ana from My (Newly)Wed Life is here to share her road to finding love! Let me just tell you ... it is the cutest love story ever! Fate truly brought her and her husband together and I'm excited for you to read her story.
Later, Jacqueline from Jax & Marbles will be sharing a bad date story this afternoon ... it's a story that you can't miss! Be sure to check back later for it. :)
Hey lovelies! I'm Ana from My (Newly)Wed Life and I'm thrilled to be here today at Michelle's blog sharing my road to finding love. I'm an ex-pat living in California and I created my blog to document the beginning of my life as a married woman. My story is definitely not very usual.... And I'm sure that after reading it, you going to start looking differently at relationships you didn't see working out in a million years!
Here is my road to finding love from Miss to Mrs ...
"Long story made short: Mr. went on vacation on Brazil with friends. His friends were going to Sao Paulo for a wedding, but Mr. wanted to see Rio de Janeiro. He still doesn't know the guy who was getting married. When they were Rio and wanted to go to a nightclub, the hotel staff suggested one for them to go. That same night, in the other side of town, a friend invited Mrs. to go to the same nightclub.
When they were there, a random dude came up to Mr. and asked if he would like to meet a girl friend of his. Then he went up to Mrs. and said the same thing. Mr. and Mrs. still don't know who that guy is and why he introduced them.
The next day, Mr. called Mrs. and they saw each other again. And the next day. Then Mr. left Rio de Janeiro.
Mrs. was in her last year of school majoring in English and was planning a trip to the USA to become more fluent in English. Her friend suggested becoming an au pair. The problem though was: au pairs are chosen by the host families, so they cannot choose where they'll live in the US.
However, after 6 months of daily emails, google chats and skype, a host family from the Bay Area chose Mrs. as their au pair. Then Mrs. and Mr. were only 50 miles away, instead of the previous 7000 miles between them.
The first time they saw each other, Mr. took Mrs. to see the Golden Gate Bridge. And then they went to this lookout point where they could see the city from far away. Exactly one year and 8 months later, Mr. took Mrs. to that same place, and with a ring hidden in his jacket, he asked her to marry him. :)
3 months later, they got married and are now planning on living happily ever after."
Lots of girls have lots of rules about when/where to meet the perfect guy. Many people say nothing serious happens when you meet guys at bars. Not only did I meet my husband at a nightclub, but he was also from another country! However, when we met each other we felt like never before and had an instant connection. The third day that we were together, right before he was about to leave my city - and my country - we were thinking about ways that I could come see him. Not for a moment did I think it was crazy to move countries to be with him. It just felt right. I couldn't let such a strong feeling die. I had to give it try, because, after all, the worst thing that could happen to me was to spend a year in California. I'm glad I followed my heart and didn't listen to people who said I was crazy for leaving everything behind for a guy I spent three days with. And .... that was my road to finding love! :)
Thanks for reading it!
xoxo, Ana
