Classroom Theme

Hello loves!  I'm so excited because today ... I discovered what I would like my classroom theme to be!  My friend and I went to a teacher supply fair where we received lots of free goodies and got to browse and buy all of the new products available for the upcoming school year.  This morning, I couldn't believe I was going back-to-school shopping since I still have about 5+ weeks before school starts ... but I'm so glad I went!

My theme is going to be New York, New York!
I haven't thought out all the details yet, but I saw this bulletin board set and decided to go with it!

Two years ago,  I taught 2nd grade and we had a Broadway themed week at school. I created a PLAYBILL just like the ones you receive when you see a show on Broadway with my students as the stars and I included pictures and paragraphs about each one.  We also created fun NYC tourist brochures. It was a really fun week so I'm hoping it will work out as my classroom theme.
[They say the neon lights are bright
On Broadway
They say there's always magic in the air
On Miss M.'s Broadway]
For Broadway week, I also made this cityscape and tried to create it to look like Times Square with all of the billboards.  The kids loved it and I'm so happy that I'll be able to use it again this year.  :)

I still have lots of thinking to do but the creative juices have already started flowing!

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, feel free to comment with them! I'd love to hear them! :)

Happy Wednesday! xo
