Cedar Point with Erica

Hello lovelies!  I'm off to Chicago!  My super awesome bloggy bestie, Erica, is here for me today!  She's a pretty cool girl and well pretty darn funny too! She just got back from a place that I'm dying to visit ... Cedar Point, Ohio!  You know I love rollercoasters and I love Erica's blog too ... so be sure to check it out! :)  Take it away,  Ms. Young and Fabulous! :)

Hi everyone! I'm Erica from Young and Fabulous!

I recently got back from a lil trippy trip to Cedar Point, Ohio and Michelle asked me to share a bit about it! Basically, my boyfriend Kurt and I packed up and drove 10 hours just for the amazing amusement park.

There's just something about amusement parks that excite me. As soon as I get there, I get really anxious to play Roller Coaster Tycoon. Remember that computer game?! Though sometimes I'd create roller coasters that don't complete a full track, and have the people go crashing and dying off of them. #MEAN.

I just love the sites, the smell of every delicious fatty muffin top food imaginable, and the rides. Ugh..how can you forget THE RIDES?

I had never been to this park before, but Kurt has....so when we booked it 3 months ago, I've been listening to him basically have virtual sex with the park. "OH MY GOD Erica...look at this video of this ride." or "omg you need to come look at these pics of how high this ride is! you're going on. I'm making you." And then he'd get really fancy, and search weeks ahead on our tv guide channel and DVR any show that had anything to do with roller coasters. To say he is a fan is an understatement. We had a freakin' blast!!

So there's this one ride that's blown a bajillion records. Literally you need to go on it. It launches you 120 miles per hour up a gigantic hill. We went on it a bunch of times, but saved the best for last. Our last night, we waited almost 2 hours for the FRONT ROW. Let's just say that going 120 miles per hour at night with bugs splattering in your face is just amazing. I think I caught a buggy in my teeth.

I video'd the ride in action so you could see it! Excuse my Vicki Gunvalson WOO-WOO!

Have any of you been to Vegas? The stratesphere hotel has this one ride at the top that hands you over the edge and spins you. I went on it last summer and vowed never to do something like that AGAIN! Weirdest feeling ever. Well, Cedar Point decided they needed a ride sort of similar, so they recently opened their new ride, Windseeker. Have a lookie:

It was SCARY! 310 feet up and it spun around! Though half the time was spent me staring into Kurt's chest because I was too scared to look...and in the instance I did look, all I saw was water! YOWZA.

And note to self, when I eventually have a kid, he/she WILL NOT be winning any of these things, because I sure as hell ain't lugging that shit all over tarnation! Seen here, this poor father was stuck holding these fella's while his kids enjoyed the rides. Case in point!

So all in all, Cedar Point is a new favorite. Love love love it..and you all need to go! Seriously..our hotel was right on the property so we never had to drive anywhere. We walked to and from, took an afternoon where we went on the water rides and got a chance to go back and change so we didn't contract yeast infections or have painful thigh rub chaffing.

We were there for 2.5 days but needed like 5 to fully satisfy! Cedar Point, I heart you!! I can't wait to go back. Thanks Michelle for letting me take over your blog for the day!!

great post and love the pics! haha esp of the stuffed animals on the bench too funny! I went to Cedar point like 5 years ago and we had a blast! I don't even like the big coasters but it was still fun. We also stayed right by the park, and there was a little sandy area with vball courts right out front of our hotel! so fun!

OK so I don't know if you are talking about the same rollar coaster but I rode the one that went around stratosphere and I was NOT impressed. It was kinda boring to me. The rollar coaster in NYNY and Circus Circus (lol) are a lot better IMHO! Love the shot of the animals. That poor man needs a trash bag to lug them around. At that point you tell the kid, enough is enough.

I'm a rollercoaster junky! I've seen Cedar Point advertised on the travel channel before! It looks so awesome! The ride in your video makes me giddy!
Around here, the best place for roller coasters is 6 Flags Magic Mountain!
