Earthquake Strikes East Coast

An earthquake sent tremors from the nation’s capitol to New York City Tuesday afternoon, the result of what officials said was a 5.9 magnitude earthquake based in Virginia.

It was really interesting to feel a mild earthquake considering it is something that is very rare on the East Coast.   Everything around me shook back and forth . . . it was crazy!  I have another experience under my belt now! ;)  Luckily, no one was injured and no major damage has been reported yet.

Did anyone else on the East Coast feel the earthquake?

I sure hope everyone is okay! The DR I work for, his daughter is in school in VA, so we were concerned about her!

I am so happy that everyone is safe and uninjured- but I gotta be honest- I'm a little jealous. Apparently people in Detroit felt an earthquake not that long ago and I didn't feel anything then either! I don't want to feel a massive quake- just an itty bitty one!

I, for one, did not feel the earthquake way over here in WA state. Nothing ever exciting happens over here. I'm gonna move.

Seriously, it had to be one of the craziest things I've ever felt. I thought I was going crazy at first. Luckily my neighbor at work and I popped our heads out of our cubes and the same time and asked "did you feel that?!" Haha....it made for an interesting day!

Apparently everyone here in NC felt it too except me. I'm kind of bummed that I missed it. Haha
