With my birthday approaching, I've been doing a lot of thinking. I always thought that I'd be at a different spot in my life by now {I'm going to be 28}. I thought that I would have a successful career, be married, own a home, and be just about ready to start a family.
Originally, I thought that I had none of those things.
But I realized after thinking about it that I do have a successful career. I have been a teacher for 6 years. I may not have any job security {since I'm let go each year} but that is not my fault {thank you, horrible economy!}. I work my behind off everyday to make sure that I have a job each school year and so far I have. I have faced many challenges and struggles but I do always end up with something so with that being said I guess that I can say that I do have a successful career.
So I have one of the previously mentioned things.
The others are a work in progress. And you know what ... that's okay!
Why? Because there is a plan for everyone.
"But I have learned that you can't just create your own timetable and will it to come true."

And as much as I love to plan, there are things that are outside of your control that you can't plan.
When it is my time to find the perfect person for me, I will.
When it is time for me to own a home, I will.
When it is time for me to start preparing for a family, I will.
But until then, I've come to see that so many other things have happened in my life that I wouldn't take back for anything! I've been so lucky to have tons and tons of amazing experiences that I will remember for a lifetime! I have the best family and friends a girl could ever ask for, I have the sweetest dog, I travel, do things I love, and get to see new things, I laugh and enjoy life everyday, and most importantly, I am happy and healthy.
And that's all that matters. Everything happens for a reason and one day, I will have all of the things I've always wanted!
So forget thinking like this . . .

you know, I know exactly how you feel. I just turned 28 (yesterday, actually) and I'm not where I want to be. Things have happened that have prevented some things, and I'm further in some aspects. Sometimes I just need to take a step back and realize that I can't change my past, and I can't force things to happen ... they'll happen when they're meant to. Thank you for this reminder. :)
Great post, so very true!
I love this post and all the quotes you included! I've definitely been there, feeling like I'm not where I thought I'd be by now, but then life gives us surprises we never could've planned for, so we have to know that it will all work out :)
Great post and so so true!!
Oh, what a happy, beautiful, inspiring post! So many people could benefit from these powerful reminders!
Happy seeing beautiful!

I can totally relate! I'll be 30 at the end of the month and up until a few months ago, felt like I didn't have any of those things on my "list" but then life happened...and now several of those things are more possible than ever before! :) Hang in there!
Can I please tell you how encouraging it is - to not be alone... to be in the same stage as someone else. So often in blog land I feel left out and well 'single' ... watching your journey helps me know I'm not alone in my struggles. My wishes and dreams may not have come true yet, but I hold strong to the possibility that they will happen... just not quite yet. Keep your chin up girly! xoxo
So true! I love this post, and keep your chin up. The best things in life happen when you least expect it! :)
